David Ide

March 12, 1928 – February 21, 2002

“The four cornerstones of character on which the structure of this great nation was built are: Initiative, imagination, individuality and independence.”  - Eddie Rickenbacker

David’s friends and family would say that those four great cornerstones of character could describe David as well.  However, they would also add that he was a affectionate Father, Husband, Friend, Inventor, Craftsman and Boater Extraordinaire!

Dave "The Chef"

David dearly loved his family, friends and woodworking, but his passion in life was boating. He generously shared this interest with his numerous friends and proudly commandeered the founding of the Broward Boating Club.

The "Allegro"

With his beautiful wife Loey on the Allegro, they floated the BBC through nearly ten years of high sea adventures.

Because David had such fervor for life, he left a treasure chest brimming with incredible memories for his family and friends to share.

“Where did you park the mule, David? - Ted Smith
